Personal Data Protection Clarification Text
As Provet Veterinary Products Inc. (“Company”), in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (“KVKK”), we, as the Data Controller, would like to inform you with this “Information” letter, within the framework of Articles 10 (“Obligation of the Data Controller to Inform”) and 11 (“Rights of the Data Subject”) of the KVKK, regarding the purposes for which your personal data will be processed, to whom and for what purposes your processed personal data may be transferred, the method and legal basis for the collection of your personal data, and other rights you have under Article 11 of the KVKK:
As the Data Controller, we process, record, transfer, share, and store your personal data within the boundaries outlined below and as mandated by official regulations.
Our company reserves the right to update this “Clarification Text on Personal Data Protection” in accordance with possible changes in the applicable official legislation.
1. For what purposes do we process your personal data?
As the Data Controller, we may process your personal data for the following purposes:
- Negotiating, concluding, and fulfilling contracts,
- Providing products and services,
- Customizing the products and services offered to meet demands; updating and improving them due to customer needs, legal, and technical developments,
- User definitions on systems related to the products and services offered,
- Announcing new or existing products, services, and campaigns; conducting sales and marketing activities,
- Conducting market research,
- Creating statistics and analyzing usage,
- Payment and collection of product, service, and service fees, selection of collection methods,
- Establishing contact/communication,
- Managing commercial relations with partner companies, suppliers, resellers, and service providers,
- Reporting within the framework of cooperation,
- Evaluating the application process of resellers’ partnerships,
- Developing and planning the company’s commercial strategies,
- Managing judicial/administrative processes, responding to requests from public institutions, fulfilling legal obligations, resolving legal disputes,
- Managing investor relations,
- Ensuring the legal consequences of mergers, divisions, or the transfer of all or part of the company to another company,
- Conducting business meetings, evaluating job applications,
- Establishing, executing, and terminating employment contracts,
- Benefiting company employees from primary and secondary benefits arising from employment contracts, evaluating their performance and work,
- Opening user accounts for employees, providing internal identification and meal cards,
- Organizing transportation for employees, tracking company vehicles,
- Registering participants for company-organized events,
- Creating participation and certificate records for employee training,
- Creating and tracking visitor registrations,
- Ensuring internal and external security and the security of the website and applications,
- Creating a personal data inventory,
- Evaluating and responding to all written, verbal, or electronic queries, requests, suggestions, complaints, and applications related to personal data.
2. What is the processing of sensitive personal data?
According to the Personal Data Protection Law, sensitive personal data includes data related to individuals’ race, ethnicity, political opinions, philosophical beliefs, religion, sect, or other beliefs, clothing, membership in associations, foundations or unions, health, sexual life, criminal convictions, and security measures, as well as biometric and genetic data. Our company takes the necessary precautions, as determined by the Personal Data Protection Authority, in processing sensitive personal data. We will only process sensitive personal data with the consent of the individual and solely for the purpose of collection.
3. Who do we transfer your processed personal data to and for what purposes?
Your personal data may be transferred to the following third parties, within the framework of the purposes outlined in Article 1 above and in compliance with the applicable laws and regulations, both domestically and internationally:
- Consultants
- Audit firms
- Service providers
- Partner companies
- Customers
- Shareholders
- Suppliers
- Banks and financial institutions
- Judicial authorities and public officials
4. How do we collect your personal data and what are the legal reasons for collecting it?
We collect and process your personal data through written, verbal, electronic means, image/sound recording, or in person, in compliance with the regulations of this policy, the law, and other relevant legislation. Our data collection process may include:
- Digital platforms or software belonging to third parties such as websites, mobile applications, emails, and recruitment portals;
- Contracts, applications, forms, remote support, sales, and marketing units,
- Cookies on websites, business cards, and phone contacts;
- Face-to-face meetings with the data subject.
Additionally, when using our services:
- When you use our website,
- When you visit our company website or social media channels,
- When you attend company-organized training, seminars, or events, your personal data may be processed.
Personal data collected with your consent, or in compliance with other legal bases specified in Turkish laws, may be processed for the purpose of:
– Enabling you to benefit from the products and services we provide,
– Customizing our products and services according to your preferences, usage habits, and needs,
– Ensuring the legal and commercial security of our company and persons in a business relationship with the company,
– Improving the quality of services provided by our company,
– Notifying you of campaigns, promotions, discounts, and other advantages,
– Processing your personal data to provide the services you requested from our platforms.
5. In what situations may our company process your personal data without your explicit consent?
In accordance with Article 5 of the KVKK, our company may process your personal data without explicit consent in the following situations:
- When clearly required by laws,
- If you cannot provide consent due to physical impossibility or if legal validity is not given to your consent, and processing is necessary to protect the life or bodily integrity of you or someone else,
- When the processing of personal data is necessary for the execution of a contract you have entered into with our company,
- When processing is necessary for the fulfillment of a legal obligation of our company,
- When your personal data has been made public by you,
- When the processing is necessary for the establishment, use, or protection of a right,
- When processing is necessary for the legitimate interests of our company, provided it does not harm your fundamental rights and freedoms.
6. For how long will your personal data be processed?
In accordance with the KVKK, personal data processed for the purposes mentioned in this “Clarification Text on Personal Data Processing” will be deleted, destroyed, or anonymized when the purpose of processing ceases or when the legal retention periods specified in applicable legislation expire.
7. What are your rights as a data subject?
In accordance with Article 11 of the KVKK, you have the right to:
- Learn whether your personal data is being processed,
- Request information if your personal data has been processed,
- Learn the purpose of processing and whether the data is used in compliance with that purpose,
- Know the third parties to whom your personal data is transferred, both in Turkey and abroad,
- Request correction of any incomplete or inaccurate data,
- Request deletion or destruction of your data when the reasons for processing no longer apply,
- Object to the processing of your data solely through automated systems,
- Request compensation for damages caused by unlawful processing of your personal data.
However, as per Article 28/2 of the KVKK, you cannot exercise the rights mentioned above in the following cases:
- Personal data processing is necessary for the prevention of crime or the investigation of a crime,
- Personal data made public by the data subject is processed,
- Processing is required for the performance of public duties by authorized institutions or professional organizations,
- Processing is required for the protection of the financial and economic interests of the state.
According to Article 13 of the KVKK, you can submit requests regarding the exercise of your rights through the methods determined by the Personal Data Protection Authority. Alternatively, you may send your written requests to our address:
